School Meals

Our meals, and packed lunches for those who choose, are taken in the school annexe.  A menu for the following week will be sent home in school bags on a Tuesday for return by the end of the week. Menu choices and dinner money should be paid on the first day of the school week.  If a child misses a meal because of absence the cost will be credited to the following week.  The price of a school meal is £2.20 per day.  200ml cartons of milk are also available at 10p per day.  If you would like to pay for meals in a block please contact the school office. From 5 January 2015, all pupils in Primary 1-3 will be entitled to a free school meal. Parents do not have to register for this; all pupils will receive this meal automatically. Parents of pupils in P4-P7 who receive certain benefits may also be eligible for free school meals.  To find out if you qualify contact the school office for a form or visit www.argyll-bute.gov.uk to apply online.

At Achaleven Primary School we encourage healthy eating.  School lunches are planned so that children can choose a well-balanced meal, which includes a good selection of bread, vegetables, fresh fruit, milk and fruit juice being available daily.

The school aims to encourage young people to enjoy food which is both attractive to them and nutritionally sound whether this is a school meal, a packed lunch or a snack.  We would appreciate your support in achieving this aim.
